TWICE’s latest Japanese single “Candy Pop” is another hit for the girl group!

TWICE will be releasing their new Japanese single on February 7, and they shared a pre-release of “Candy Pop” as a digital song and music video on January 12 at midnight.

The track has now taken No. 1 on Line Music’s “Top 100” chart!

This is only the latest in a run of hits in Japan by TWICE, following the success of their Japanese “best of” album “#TWICE” last June and their first original Japanese single “One More Time” in October.

      The group’s music video managed to reach this feat on January 22 at approximately 1:50 a.m. KST, just a little over 41 days since its release back on December 11, 2017 at 6 p.m. KST.
      “Heart Shaker” previously set a new personal record for TWICE for the most amount of views they’ve ever garnered in 24 hours, and also was the fastest K-pop girl group music video to reach 30 million views.
      TWICE not only continues their streak of having all of the music videos for their title tracks reach 100 million views with this latest accomplishment, but “Heart Shaker” is also their second fastest music video to hit this milestone, right behind “Likey.”

      January Brand Reputation Rankings For Individual Girl Group Members Revealed

      The Korean Business Research Institute has released the brand reputation rankings for individual girl group members for the month of January.
      109,486,334 pieces of data were collected on 318 girl group members from December 19, 2017 till January 20, 2018 based on categories of participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness. This was a 71.87 percent increase in the total amount of data collected compared to the previous month.

      According to the statistics, TWICE’s Sana topped this month’s brand reputation rankings with a total score of 3,635,014, a 138.46 percent increase from the previous month. In second place was Red Velvet’s Irene with a score of 3,181,174, which was a small 1.68 percent drop from December. Third place went to Oh My Girl’s Arin, whose brand reputation increased 749.46 percent for a total of 2,865,103.
      A source from the Institute stated that Sana’s brand for this month was tied to keywords like, “Japan, enteritis, Idol Star Athletics Championship” and 71.41 percent of data relating to the idol was positive. They added, “Oh My Girl’s members have also risen swiftly up the rankings as public interest has risen for the girl group.”

      YG, SM, And JYP Touch On Their Agency Plans For 2018

      2018 has kicked off with a rush of comebacks!
      Just halfway through the first month, artists from the “Big 3” agencies are already showing high levels of activity. To find out more about what’s ahead, news outlet OSEN contacted YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment and asked about their plans for 2018.
      YG Entertainment plans on being far from quiet in the upcoming months. iKON is returning with a studio album on January 25, and the group is expected to promote actively in Korea. BLACKPINK recently launched their reality show, and WINNER is likely to make a February comeback. BIGBANG won’t be able to promote as a group for awhile due to military enlistment, but female artists like BLACKPINK, Lee Hi, and Akdong Musician’s Lee Soo Hyun will make up for their absence. The artists of each sub-label will also continue music production.
      All SM Entertainment artists are expected to be very active in 2018, beginning with BoA’s comeback in January. TVXQ is also planning on a Korean comeback during the first half of the year. NCT is launching a new project this year, which is expected to also be in the first half of the year. SHINee will begin activities again with their Japanese concert in February. Super Junior will continue their diverse work with variety programs and more. Girls’ Generation is expected to have more solo than group activities for the year.
      JYP Entertainment is beginning the year with Wooyoung’s solo album, which was released on January 15, and Suzy’s solo comeback, which is scheduled for January 29. As 2PM members enlist one by one, they will be focusing on solo activities. GOT7 and TWICE are both expected to make at least two comebacks in Korea this year. DAY6 is continuing their growth with a new project. Artists like NakJoon, Park Jimin, and Baek Yerin are working on new music. Stray Kids released their pre-debut album on January 8 and will promote actively with their debut this year.

      Super Junior’s Leeteuk And TWICE’s Dahyun To MC Gaon Chart Music Awards + 1st Lineup Revealed

      The Gaon Chart Music Awards has announced its MC and part of its performer lineup.
      The award ceremony is organized by the Korea Music Content Industry Association and will be held on February 14 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul. Late last year the show announced that the ceremony would be going undergoing some changes in focus.
      Super Junior’s Leeteuk and TWICE’s Dahyun will be emceeing the ceremony. The first round of performers have been announced to be TWICE, IU, Sunmi, Epik High, Wanna One, SEVENTEEN, Changmo, Heize, Hwang Chi Yeul, MeloMance, NU’EST W, SECHSKIES, GOT7, and Lee Soo Hyun (Akdong Musician).
      The executive secretary of the Gaon Chart Music Awards, Choi Kwang Ho, stated, “As a ceremony that celebrates the artists who worked hard to revolutionize the music market in 2017 and the businesspeople who work in the music industry, we invited artists who had great influence like Wanna One, IU, and TWICE. This year, in order to raise the quality of our ceremony, we will put a lot of effort into shining a light on people who often get obscured in the music industry.”
